Virginia Engagement Sessions

Front Royal & Remington VA engagement photographer

Up tonight are two awesome engagement sessions that we had a great time photographing.

First, we have Jordan & Jessica, and the images from their engagement session at the Inn at Kelly’s Ford (which is where they will be getting married later this spring!).  I photographed Jessica’s brother’s wedding in 2007, and I can’t wait to see their beautiful family again!

The Inn did a fabulous job at renovating this silo into a two level modern suite that would be perfect for a bridal suite!   Hopefully, we’ll get to see the inside of it on their wedding day, but we had fun playing around the outside for now :-)

The grounds of the Inn at Kelly’s Ford are awesome… this area sits right behind the area where they will be getting married, and is within steps of the Rappahannock River.

It was pretty wet that day :)

Our wedding photographer, Shelby Leigh, had us do this shot when we had our engagement session in Chesapeake, so when I saw these tables I couldn’t help but try it on them.  They are so cute!

Next, we have Brad & Casey, who are one of the most recently married “Blue Ridge Couples”!  If you are interested in being the next Blue Ridge Bride, check out the website here for more info.

They decided to do their engagement session at their wedding venue as well, Bowling Green Country Club in Front Royal, VA.  We started on the golf course and had fun driving around the golf carts to all the great spots Bowling Green has to offer.  Halfway through the session, they realized they lost their car keys!  We all looked all over the course, but they were nowhere to be found.  We went on with their engagement session anyway, and at least got some beautiful images before the locksmith showed up :)

More sessions and weddings to come… don’t forget to check back!!!

Flashback ~ Rob & Jenn + family

Family portrait photographer in Winchester, Va

(10-day Blogathon #5!  Whoa, check it out… I’m half way there! )

I was so happy to hear from Jennifer last February, and even happier when she wanted to book me for her wedding to Rob! We all went to school together, and in 7th grade she had a major crush on Rob, but he was too busy to focus on one girl (sorry, Rob!). She told me that it took the third try a few years ago to get him to bite… and as she puts it “third time’s a charm”! I’m not sure why it took so long, because they were totally made for each other, and I’m so happy to see them finally together with such a beautiful family! We combined an engagement session with a family session to include their son Connor & Jenn’s son Kenny. I photographed Connor when he was 6 months old, and couldn’t believe he got even cuter than before!  Their wedding is in a few weeks, and I can’t wait!

Come back tomorrow for a very special personal post about what I did today!

Flashback: Gary & Staci’s E-session

Winchester Virginia engagement portraits

First off, I’ve been challenged today by someone who said that I couldn’t blog everyday for 10 days straight… hmmph…. Well, as everyone who knows me knows, I can’t turn away from a challenge, so here it goes:  10-day Blogathon #1 !!!

I received a phone call early last year from a friend of mine saying that her sister, Staci, was getting married.  Her family had seen my website, and decided that they wanted to hire me as their photographer.  I was ecstatic, because Staci is not only gorgeous, but she’s got lots of style which meant the wedding would be top notch!  Gary & Staci met at a golf club, so they decided to do their engagement session at the beautiful Rock Harbor Golf Course . They chose another golf course, Fauquier Springs Country Club as their wedding venue, which I LOVE to photograph (can you tell they really like golf?!?).    If I stick with my challenge that I told you about, then you’ll probably be seeing their wedding pictures in the very near future… trust me, it’s a doozie (in a very good way)!

They also brought along Gary’s beautiful daughter, Haley, so I got some shots with all of them as a family :-)   And a very nice-looking family indeed!!!

This image just screams “PASSION“, doesn’t it?!?

Father & Daughter, so cute!

Gary was showing Staci some new moves… I’ve never seen a put quite like that before… very interesting, Gary :-)

I threw this one in here just for fun!

Matt & Jessy ~ Explosive

I’m so excited to shoot Matt & Jessy’s wedding today! I met Jessy a couple years ago while she was working as an AWESOME wedding planner. I was so thrilled when she came to me wanting me to photograph her own wedding, because I knew it would be AMAZING! I went up to their home in Lake Holiday to shoot their engagement session and we got some great images. I love these two for the simple fact that they are not afraid of anything. They are so fun & daring & just totally explosive in everything they seem to do. And did I mention Jessy should totally be a covergirl…

We had to include their two dogs when we went back to their house to change. They are so sweet!

Did I mention how cool these two are?!?

Hot…

yeah… Matt’s a lucky man ;)

Okay, gotta go shoot their wedding!!!!

David & Jacki ~ Hot Kisses

Let me explain the blog title. Every engagement session I do is different. Even if it’s in the same exact setting as one before. Not only are the sessions different, but each couple invokes different feelings and thoughts in my crazy brain, and so I think I may start to share tiny bits of those thoughts here. We’ll see how it goes as time goes on.

I went to Harper’s Ferry, WV to photograph David & Jacki, and I couldn’t have asked for a better time. The first thing I think of when I think of them now is “hot kisses”. I love making my couples kiss, and it’s always so cute, but every now and then there comes a couple who just radiates heat when they kiss. David & Jacki are one of those couples. I don’t know if their friends have noticed, maybe it’s just me, but I LOVED it! I know, I’m such a romantic…

I’m posting quite a few black & white/sepia images tonight. The proofing site I use allows my clients to order any image in black & white or sepia, but these two just look FABULOUS in black & white, so I had to show them off :)
