Woody - Skyline High ‘09

I love doing senior portraits! I especially love doing senior portraits that take me back to my old stomping grounds of Front Royal! And, when the subject is family, it’s even better! Woody is my first cousin’s son, and can you believe I just met him earlier this year?! Wow, how time flies. Jon has taught me so much since I have been with him, and putting family first is one of those things that he really tries to encourage. Not that I wouldn’t want to anyway, but when I have a full-time day job, and I devote at least 50 hours a week on top of that to my photography business, it’s pretty hard to think about me, much less my family. Which is why I just got my invitations sent out to my wedding last week… only 4 weeks before the wedding… tsk, tsk!

So anyway, it was really cool to hang out with my baby cousin and cruise around Front Royal. Only he’s definitely not a baby. Look at that face!

Timur & Carla ~ Historic Long Branch

Jon & I love going to Historic Long Branch no matter what the occasion. We were very happy to learn that we had two weddings there within a few weeks of each other! First up is the wedding of Timur & Carla. They had guests come in from all over the world to share in their wedding day. They live in Turkey, and had a celebration there as well… how lucky to have TWO parties!

Right before her parents walked her down the aisle…

Timur is such a character!

They gave their guests these beautiful Turkish good luck charms which are believed to absorb bad energy from evil eyes. They were such a nice touch to the table settings.

I love how Timur is kissing Carla’s hand in this image while Carla’s dad is giving a speech. How sweet!

Carla’s sister gave a great speech, can’t you tell?!?

I give these two the award for best dancers!

So many people looked like they were having the time of their lives, but Timur definitely looked the happiest… and for good reason! Carla is such an amazing person, and I felt so comfortable hanging out with her and her entire family.

Thanks to the both of you and your families for making Jon & I feel so welcome! We wish you the best of luck in all your ventures :)

Jon & Megan ~ The Purple Iris

We had the pleasure of photographing a great wedding at the beautiful Purple Iris in Martinsburg, WV that was full of amazing details. Megan & Jon did such an awesome job at planning their wedding, and all their hard work showed off in big ways. The weather was SO perfect, and the sun just seemed to be in all the right places at the right times!

And the dress… WOW! I really couldn’t have imagined a more picture-perfect dress for Megan. She was absolutely stunning! To make the day even better, was the fact that they had me come early enough to get some great bridal portraits of Megan. Most of the great bridal shots I get are from before the wedding day where we aren’t rushed for time. But, if the schedule is followed exactly & you plan to be ready well ahead of the ceremony time, then we can get some great shots that day as well!

I LOVE this one!

…AND this one!

Jon got this shot of the bagpiper

It’s so funny that flowergirls tend to start running once they get close to the front of the aisle. This little cutie was no exception :)

Jon caught this next shot of Megan’s dad getting ready to walk her down the aisle…

Their dog, Fleury, was the ring bearer! He was a little nervous, but he did such a good job! You’ll see more of him when I post their thank you cards they ordered :)

and, they’re married!!!

While I was busy getting shots of the processional, Jon shot this one of the newlyweds & their honor attendants congratulating them. I love the sunbeam falling right on Megan. How perfect!

This was such a fun group!

Blowing in the breeze…

Sooo romantic!

I’m going to try & follow in the footsteps of so many of my peers, and start doing a details collage of every wedding. I know the collages have given me so much inspiration in planning my own wedding, so hopefully they will be inspiration to other brides!

The backdrop in the dining room at the Purple Iris is so pretty.

First dance…

Jon got this great shot of the Father/Daughter dance…

…while I shot this on the other side!

YAAAAYYYYY!!!!!

I must go to sleep now… I’ve been up since 5:30 this morning & have been working non-stop ever since!

GOOD NIGHT!!!

Eric & Alyssa

Jon & I had the pleasure of going to New Jersey to photograph the wedding of Eric & Alyssa. Alyssa’s family really knows how to throw a party, and this was definitely one to remember! We stopped at the local waterfront park before heading to the reception to get some shots by the water overlooking New York City. It was really hazy & gloomy that day, but about halfway through our time there the sun decided to finally come out and we got some beautiful iimages of the two of them together. The reception was held at Buttonwood Manor, which is a gorgeous venue situated right beside Lake Lefferts.

On a side note, the next day Jon & I hopped over to New York to do a little shopping at B&H, which is THE source for professional photography equipment. It was INSANE!!! The place was like a zoo, I swear! There was a line to get in, a line to check your bags, a line for each department, a line for each salesman, a line to pay (of course), and then a line to pick up your merchandise that rides on these conveyor belts from each department you purchase from to a little pickup area at the end of your journey! I was so overwhelmed the first time I went in, that I only purchased half the stuff I went in for! We took two more trips in, and then we finally had enough to satisfy ourselves, and we started the long trip back home.

Okay, on with the wedding, enjoy the show!!!
