Matt & Jessy ~ Explosive

I’m so excited to shoot Matt & Jessy’s wedding today! I met Jessy a couple years ago while she was working as an AWESOME wedding planner. I was so thrilled when she came to me wanting me to photograph her own wedding, because I knew it would be AMAZING! I went up to their home in Lake Holiday to shoot their engagement session and we got some great images. I love these two for the simple fact that they are not afraid of anything. They are so fun & daring & just totally explosive in everything they seem to do. And did I mention Jessy should totally be a covergirl…

We had to include their two dogs when we went back to their house to change. They are so sweet!

Did I mention how cool these two are?!?

Hot…

yeah… Matt’s a lucky man ;)

Okay, gotta go shoot their wedding!!!!

Habitat for Humanity - Women Build

In addition to my full-time business & my full-time day job, I’m also on the PR committee of the local Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build. This year, we are raising money AND building a home for a very deserving mother & daughter in Stephens City.  If you ladies haven’t heard of the Tiara Tuesday celebrations by now, then you are seriously missing out!  One Tuesday every month we have a get-together of women dedicated to raising money & awareness for our project (and by “get-together”, I mean usually over a hundred women turning out for music, food, beverage & fun!).  Each month is hosted by a different location, and each time I am amazed by how many women come out & how much fun we have.  I always take lots of photos & post them up on our own Women Build Shutterfly site that I created so everyone can see them & share with other women to get the word out. One of my good friends (and also one of my bridesmaids!), Erica Zambanini of Cabana Blue Creative, runs a fun blog dedicated solely to Women Build.  Check it out here for more information on how to get involved in the build, or where to come for the next big party!

Here’s a slideshow of some of the fun times we’ve had over the past several months… I even snuck into a few of the shots, so see if you can find me :)

Billy & Jenni ~ Historic Long Branch

These two have had quite the blog attention the last few months!  Billy & Jenni were married at Historic Long Branch, and the day started out SOOOO beautiful!  Blue skies, bold flowers & bright sunshine filled the day and made everything that much more happy!  During the reception an intense thunderstorm rolled through, and made for some heightened excitement.  Here’s some of my faves from the day…

One of my favorite flower girls of 2008 :)

I had lots of fun editing their images, and I wanted to do some really dramatic shots during the crazy thunderstorm that came through.  These next few matched the mood perfectly, with the cool breeze & the loud whoosh of the wind flowing through the field… it was very refreshing!

Here’s Jon helping to keep the tent walls intact and the DJ’s equipment from drowning.  I’m telling you it was POURING!!!

Here’s a slideshow from more of their day!

Gabe & Rebecca ~ Fauquier Springs Country Club

You may remember Gabe & Rebecca from their engagement session at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens last year. They were married at Fauquier Springs Country Club, and I had such a blast at their reception! They had so many great dancers there, including Gabe’s 10 year old son, who broke out a solo robot dance that rocked the house! Their colors were blue & yellow, which just happens to be my favorite color combination since I was a little girl. I almost decided on those colors for my own wedding, but it just didn’t go with the style of my wedding… maybe for a vow renewal, since Jon is already talking about one in Vegas ;-)

I also love the way Rebecca had her dress made… it was just gorgeous.

I loved this moment :)

Off to get some great shots of the newlyweds alone!

Mother/Son dance…

Gabe’s son… I told ya he rocked it!

Danny was the best man, and I shot his wedding a few years ago. I was happy to see him & Gianna again… they are so much fun!

Utter SWEET-ness!

The garter routine got a little hot…

One of the flower girls passed out before I left… she was so cute :)
