Virginia Weddings on private estates

Front Royal & Winchester VA wedding photographers

Here are two more weddings that I’d like to share.  Both weddings were held on gorgeous private properties.

First up is Matt & Jessy’s wedding just outside Winchester, VA.  Jessy was a wedding planner (which is how we met), and now she has just started her own marketing company, Printz Media (creators of the new Funchester.com).  You may remember their super-hot engagement session at Lake Holiday.  They are such a great-looking couple, so I was super-bummed when it poured down raining in the middle of the ceremony… and I’m talking POURING!  I felt so bad about how things turned out, I offered them a complimentary Day After session so we could get all those gorgeous images I wanted for them, but they are such a busy couple & just haven’t found a day that they could spend together getting their session done.  I’m not giving up, though ;-)  I’ll be sure to post those images when we get the chance to shoot them!

Here’s Jessy’s beautiful wedding dress.

…and the beautiful bride.

The scene in the front lawn just before the ceremony… we all knew it was inevitable.

Jessy’s checking out the situation… you can tell she knows what’s coming, but she still has that gorgeous smile on her face :)

Yeah, I told ya it POURED!

Definitely time to party!

They had 8 Lives Spent play at the reception… so ROCKIN’!

Jessy even got up on stage and rocked it out with the guys.  This party was crazy!

Now, to settle things down a little, let’s check out Sean & Kathy’s charming wedding in Front Royal, VA at Sean’s parents’ beautiful hillside home.  Here, Kathy is taking in the glorious sunshine in the sunroom before the ceremony begins.

So in love :)

You know I love father/daughter dances, and here’s one of my favorites.

I haven’t shown any album designs on the blog, so what better time to start than right now!  Here are a few spreads from Sean & Kathy’s wedding album.  This is the cover page which shows the back cover on the left & the front cover on the right.  This was the view at the end of their wedding day, and made for a perfect cover shot for their wedding album.

Sean’s gift to the groomsmen were these fashionable pocket watches.

My favorite spread in the album

A page for the girls…

… and a page for the guys.

Thanks again for stopping by, and I promise to post our newest sonogram pictures soon for those of you emailing to ask to see them!  They’re up on Facebook now if you’d like to check them out :)

Virginia Engagement Sessions

Front Royal & Remington VA engagement photographer

Up tonight are two awesome engagement sessions that we had a great time photographing.

First, we have Jordan & Jessica, and the images from their engagement session at the Inn at Kelly’s Ford (which is where they will be getting married later this spring!).  I photographed Jessica’s brother’s wedding in 2007, and I can’t wait to see their beautiful family again!

The Inn did a fabulous job at renovating this silo into a two level modern suite that would be perfect for a bridal suite!   Hopefully, we’ll get to see the inside of it on their wedding day, but we had fun playing around the outside for now :-)

The grounds of the Inn at Kelly’s Ford are awesome… this area sits right behind the area where they will be getting married, and is within steps of the Rappahannock River.

It was pretty wet that day :)

Our wedding photographer, Shelby Leigh, had us do this shot when we had our engagement session in Chesapeake, so when I saw these tables I couldn’t help but try it on them.  They are so cute!

Next, we have Brad & Casey, who are one of the most recently married “Blue Ridge Couples”!  If you are interested in being the next Blue Ridge Bride, check out the website here for more info.

They decided to do their engagement session at their wedding venue as well, Bowling Green Country Club in Front Royal, VA.  We started on the golf course and had fun driving around the golf carts to all the great spots Bowling Green has to offer.  Halfway through the session, they realized they lost their car keys!  We all looked all over the course, but they were nowhere to be found.  We went on with their engagement session anyway, and at least got some beautiful images before the locksmith showed up :)

More sessions and weddings to come… don’t forget to check back!!!

Kurt & Porter ~ St. Bridget’s & Historic Jordan Springs

Winchester, VA wedding photographers

Welcome back to the 2nd day of the “Best Of” Showcase Blogathon! Up tonight is one of my favorite weddings from 2009… I was so happy to be able to photograph Kurt & Porter’s wedding, not just because they are a wonderful couple that had an elegant wedding, but also because Porter’s dad was my pediatrician!  I always thought of him as the best doctor ever (seriously, he set the bar so high that I’ve switched doctors at least 10 times, and still haven’t found one that I really love)… plus, he’s going to be our new baby’s doctor (YAY!!!).  So, back to the wedding :)

Kurt & Porter were married at the beautiful St. Bridget of Ireland Catholic Church in Berryville, VA. Isn’t this such a beautiful dress? I love it!

I LOVED all the flowers for this wedding, especially this super unique bouquet!  Can you believe Porter’s dad did them?!?

“BEST OF” Showcase

wedding photographers winchester, va

To celebrate the arrival of 2010, I’m starting ANOTHER 10-Day Blogathon! I’ll be showcasing some of our favorite images we’ve created over the last year including weddings, engagements, bridals, newborns, seniors, families, and more that haven’t made it to the blog yet! That way, I can keep one of my New Year’s resolutions… blogging every session I do so everyone can see! That IS the purpose of this blog, isn’t it, lol?!?

Let me start it out with a bang: TWO wedding slideshows that never made it to the blog due to my tight 2008 Christmas schedule. Boy, am I glad I’ve freed up so much of my time since then… and so is Jon :-)

First up, is Keith & Jessica. We traveled to in Morgantown, WV for this beautiful (but very, very COLD!!!) wedding. You may remember them from their engagement session in Harper’s Ferry, WV. They are now expecting their first child! Congratulations!!! Be sure to notice Jessica’s beautiful dress… I have to say it was the most gorgeous dress on Earth… of course, I have to say that because it was the same dress I picked out for my wedding!

Next, is David & Jacki. Their wedding took place at an equestrian center in WV. I photographed their engagement session in Harper’s Ferry, WV as well… check it out here! I LOVED the silo pictures :-)

Make sure to stay tuned every day for the next 10 days to see photography in Winchester, Front Royal, Warrenton, Luray, Purcellville, Charles Town & more!
