Megan ~ Sherando High

Winchester, Virginia Senior Portrait Photographers

I’m dreaming of hot sunny weather so I can shoot more senior portrait sessions like this one from earlier this year of Megan from Sherando High School!

IMPORTANT!!! LISTEN UP!!! Since this session early this year, I have learned that shooting on railroad tracks is illegal. As in “not allowed”, “prohibited”, “unauthorized”… like totally OUTLAWED, lol! Even though there were CSX guys that showed up during this shoot and didn’t say anything to us (you can see their truck in the background of the shot below), I have since been SEVERELY warned (as in yelled at and threatened to have my gear confiscated and a hefty fine given to not only me but my clients who were there) by another CSX officer at a different senior portrait session. Apparently, from what the CSX officer told me, a newbie photographer put a newborn baby on the tracks in Harper’s Ferry right before a train was coming and so they are kicking up their enforcement of the trespassing law. I have since heard horror stories of photographers who have had to pay thousands of dollars in fines for one ticket, had gear taken away, had images deleted on cards, etc.). SOOOOOO… guess what? I’m not stepping foot on railroad property ever again! I swear almost every senior session since this one has requested a shot on the tracks, lol! Sorry ladies, I don’t think you want your driver’s licenses taken away until you turn 18, and my insurance agent would probably not help me out in replacing my gear if it was confiscated due to a criminal action on my part, so don’t even ask!  Alrighty, end of PSA, now back to the senior portraits:)

Lauren’s Bridal Portraits ~ Historic Jordan Springs, Winchester VA

Winchester Virginia bridal portrait photographers

I was honored to be able to photograph Lauren in her gorgeous wedding gown at Historic Jordan Springs. She wanted the typical bridal portrait to showcase on an easel at her reception, but also wanted to have some fun portraits done in her wedding dress before the big day. It was a great trial run for her hair and makeup and she had a chance to try out her fabulous birdcage veil that I just adore!

Mark & Jenny ~ The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley & The George Washington Hotel

Winchester, Virginia Wedding Photographers

We are at the height of wedding & portrait season, but I just  had to post some images from a recent wedding at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and the George Washington Hotel. I was absolutely thrilled when Jenny & Mark decided to hire us to shoot their museum wedding! They are gorgeous, sweet, stylish, oh-so-fun and I knew that their wedding would be magnificent:)  I wasn’t counting on a torrential downpour, however… Alas, Mother Nature just wanted to show off how absolutely stunning Jenny could be even in a crazy rainstorm:)  I can’t wait to have our Day After session at the Museum soon so we can get all those lovely romantic images that this couple deserves!

Quite possibly my favorite ring shot, considering the story of the day:)

See? Only Jenny Brockwell could still look glowingly stunning in a rainstorm such as this…

I need to explain this shot… this was a specific request from the bride and groom that many of our couples are wanting today. It’s so awesome to see the faces of your friends and family as you have your first kiss! Typically, we steer clear of this area but upon request we will most certainly do it as long as the officiant gives the thumbs up.

This is ALWAYS my most favorite part of every wedding day. You can totally feel the joy in everyone’s faces.

Happy Anniversary, Jon!

I have to take a quick break from the workday to say Happy FIVE YEAR Anniversary to my best friend:)

(thanks to Shelby Leigh Photography for the priceless engagement & wedding photos)

Romantic moment coming back up the aisle after the ceremony:)

Last dance…

We picked the longest full moon of the year, and it rose exactly over the mountain in front of the reception for everyone to see while on the dance floor. It was amazing!!!

Being a great Daddy to our beautiful little girl, Juniper, comes naturally…

And one of the first of many sweet moments with our newest bundle of joy, Bastian:)

Thank you, Jon, for everything you do.  “Olive Juice”:)
